Thespesia Grandiflora
Known affectionately as the "Flor de Maga," this stunning evergreen is the national symbol of Puerto Rico. While it is often mistaken for a common Hibiscus due to its flamboyant crimson blossoms, the Maga is actually a majestic, long-lived tree rather than a shrub. It is celebrated across the Caribbean for its resilience and its ability to turn any landscape into a tropical paradise.
Although it is the official national flower of Puerto Rico, the Maga is technically a tree blossom. It was chosen because, unlike the "True Hibiscus," the Maga is endemic only to the island, making it a unique botanical treasure found nowhere else in the wild!

These plant needs regular fertilizing during growing seasons. Fertilizing your plants in dormant state during the winter, might result in scorching or browning of the leaf tips. If mature plants display signs of nutrient insufficiency, fertilizer administration is necessary to restore the plant to its previous state.
